Dear Elaine & Gareth,

Having  found the details of the cottage at Platts House in the Forest Of Dean Tourist Brochure, we looked at your website, checked availability direct by telephone and made the booking very easily.

We arrived on a cold snowy evening for a half-term weekend break to a warm, cosy welcoming cottage. We felt the welcome as soon as we entered the cottage especially so as we went into the kitchen and discovered a homemade loaf, homemade jam, locally produced butter, scones, milk, tea and coffee.

We had our 15 year old granddaughter with us, she slept on the bed settee in the lounge; we used the very comfortable bedroom upstairs. However, since Anne has some difficulty with stairs, after the first night we swapped with said granddaughter and we used the bed settee. This was certainly very comfortable for us and made a big difference not having to use the stairs.

The cottage is equipped with excellent kitchen and shower room facilities ideal for a short break or a longer holiday. This must be the cosiest self-catering cottage we have stayed in. Your welcome, together with your care and attention to detail made our short stay very comfortable and relaxing, and we will be very happy to stay at the cottage again.

This cottage is ideally placed for visiting the Forest of Dean area, with so much to see and do, it excellent value for money and well deserving of its 4 star status. We have no hesitation in recommending this to our friends and family. The name of the cottage at Platts House has no family connection, this is entirely coincidental !

Thank you, once again for our most enjoyable break.

Kind Regards

Anne & Mike
